As mentioned, ABUA is the parent organization that hosts the Wildwood tournament.
We [ABUA] are basically an ultimate group supporting beach ultimate!
We are striving to create a beach ultimate tournament series.
Additionally, we hope to gain a greater presence (and bargaining force), by having a national coast-to-coast series of events.
In 2018, we help launch LAThrowback. ABUA contributions included: donated use of lined 5×5 fields for the tournament (all fields had lines); Plus, the winner of the highest competitive level bracket & the spirit winner of that bracket were given free bids to Wildwood 2018.
In recent years, ABUA has partnered with LEIOUT. We have loaned our 4×4 and 5×5 fields to the tournament in 2022 and 2023. We also have reciprocal agreements for winners of each mutual tournament to participate with the partner tournament.
With the Wildwood tournament, we have experience hosting the biggest ultimate tournament in the world. And we do use a specific format that is different than most tournaments. However, we are not forcing our format (4×4) or tournament schedule on anyone.
As a member-partner, we would request a reciprocal agreement for winners getting free bids to member tournaments.
